We're a hard working bunch and a common phrase you'll hear around Aotearoa is 'Do the Mahi'.
Mahi, meaning work.
It actually comes from a Māori proverb:
Mauri mahi, mauri ora; mauri noho, mauri mate.
"Industry begets prosperity; idleness begets poverty,"
So if you do the work (mahi), then you get the rewards.
In our case it's delicious rewards - jet planes, lolly cake, choc fish, chippies, a delicious pie and a good ol' trumpet.
